Knot in a Good Mood

"I think I'm just gonna duck in and get my neck and shoulders rubbed..." I told my colleagues after leaving dinner.

An hour and a half later...

Leaving the massagey, I called Mindy and said, "I've just been back raped..."

Finger Lickin' Good

To celebrate Andrew's birthday we went to Hey-Wha dong and had a delicious galbi dinner with a delicious ice cream cake from Baskin Robins.

But we still were not satiated. So to continue his tradition, Andrew took us all to an octopus (squid?) place where we all tried one of Korea's delicacies. I personally did not want any part of it, but ended up putting one of the sucky crawlers in my mouth (I will NOT be doing this again).

Antics ensued:

Do you ever think you would see so many foreigners stuffing their faces with live octopus?

Andrew also liked chomping on snails. I like mine with lots of garlic butter.

Liz takes the plunge.

All Good Things

must come to an end. World Cup fever, you were fun while it lasted... I won't ever have to hear or say the word vuvuzela again.

Happy Birthday Papa Bear!

My father is the most impossible person to shop for. I've done gag gifts (golf toilet paper), serious gifts (sweaters), music (about 5 motown CDs and 3 live concert DVDs), books... being halfway around the world, you have to get a little creative.

So Daddy, Happy Birthday/Father's Day!! You always did get gypped by having these two so close together! :)

Bacon Overdose

I entered Grandma Lucy's Bacon and Brown Sugar Spaghetti into the Pasta Sauce Contest benefiting Little Travelers today. I didn't know how stiff my competition was going to be, but I thought, "c'mon everybody loves bacon."

I woke up bright and early and with the help of Mindy, my sous chef, we cooked up 4 pounds of bacon and whipped up G-ma Lucy's famous sauce. Cooking is fun, but not when you're doing it for a solid 2 hours and getting splatter burns on your arms.

Needless to say, this was a full on labor of love and I was ready to pimp out my sauce hardcore.

I freaked at the last moment and maybe overcompensated with the brown sugar but hopefully people weren't just being polite when they ate it.
Here we go!
The sauce is so thick the spoon stands on its own.

Bacon carnage.

Welcome to Korea by Liz

My Seoulmate, Liz, has a video up in the 10 Magazine "Korea Awaits" Video Contest and it's awesomazing!

Please vote for her!! She's #33 and she managed to capture my enthrallment over a big ass piece of kimchi over samgyeopsal. Which is reason enough to vote for her!
